Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team (CLT) . This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will be responsible for executing linear and nonlinear structural analysis scope using ABAQUS and/or ANSYS tools. Responsibilities will include executing analysis efforts to support Launch Equipment design, development, production and deployment. This includes finite element (static, transient, buckling, modal), fatigue, random vibration, weld and bolted joint analyses. In addition, the candidate will be supporting test objective development for model validation and qualification. Candidate will generate analysis documentation artifacts and prepare CDRL for customer deliveries. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhD
Experience performing dynamic and static structural analysis
Experience working with ANSYS or ABAQUS tool
Proficient in post-processing of analysis data using MATLAB, MathCAD, or EXCEL
Proficient writer and able to verbally communicate technical content
Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and special program access clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Proficiency with ABAQUS, FEMAP, and ANSYS tools
Exposure to structural test applications
Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7)
Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
Able to navigate through NX 3D models and CPLM
TeamCenter CPLM experience
Active DoD Secret clearance granted or updated within past 6 years
Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
