Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, AL and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to include the Sentinel (GBSD) program.

The selected candidate does not need to have an active clearance, but must be able to obtain a security clearance prior to starting in this role. This posting is for candidates that do not have a Secret clearance, but are able and willing to wait (to start) for the Secret clearance to be obtained (by the company).

What you'll get to do:

  • Work with both Program Managers and technical teams to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design .

  • Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.

  • Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical)

  • Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts

  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis

  • Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration)

  • Communicate and train other systems engineering teams on modeling process & procedures

  • Take content through the configuration management

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This position may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (Level 3) or at the Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (Level 4), based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 3: A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; or 0 years with a PhD. (at least 1 degree must be STEM discipline)

  • level 4: A minimum of 9 years with a bachelor's degree; 7 years with a Master's degree; or 4 years with a PhD) (at least 1 degree must be STEM discipline)

  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

  • Experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations using tools such as DOORS (IBM Rational)

  • Experience with complex system development on large programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret/ Top Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years or in continues evaluation

  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools

  • Experience with SysML, UML or DoDAF modeling languages

  • Experience with flight hardware

Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600

Salary Range 2: $112,000 - $168,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
