Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Director of Programs to be the Command & Launch (C&L) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Lead. This position will support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development Sentinel program. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to lead in a dynamic engineering environment. There is significant responsibility and visibility with executive leadership and the broad customer organization. This leadership role will be located in Roy, UT and will be at the Director Programs 2 level .
As the C&L SE&I Senior Director reporting to the Command and Launch (C&L) vice president, you will be responsible for providing execution leadership for the planning and performance of systems engineering activities across the geographically dispersed C&L segment. Your primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical systems engineering requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. You will be expected to manage day to day operations of the C&L SE&I team, to include, cross-segment program coordination. In this position, you must understand and strategically drive the detailed program roadmap to major program events and the responsibilities of each C&L systems engineering team (segment and product levels) to meet such event criteria. You will work with both the Program and C&L Product Development Teams to lead development and maturation of systems engineering content and artifacts using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
What You’ll Get To Do
As the C&L SE&I Senior Director, you will be working on the design of one of the largest and most critical programs for the US Air Force. You will have an opportunity to work with teammates across a wide variety of disciplines and become intimately familiar with all aspects of Sentinel. You will lead coordination and collaboration across the diverse C&L engineering design teams to manage the technical baseline and the integration of C&L products to meet Weapon System and segment level major program events. You will present to program and segment leadership and the customer on a regular basis, to include the monthly program management reviews. You will also be expected to proactively coordinate with various teams to develop, document, and maintain design solutions. All job functions require close teamwork across technical disciplines and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to perform and provide oversight and support in the following areas:
· Initiate a collaborative environment with other systems engineering organizations both within C&L and across the Sentinel program to ensure successful development of CDRLs and overall systems engineering execution
· Drive execution of the SE&I scope and accountability for performance
· Ensure major milestones, program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated for program success, to include the upcoming Critical Design Review (CDR) campaign
· Execute to the Sentinel Engineering Manufacturing and Design (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW) for C&L systems engineering for ~$300M of scope
· Drive earned value and risk management by utilizing metrics to track development progress against the plan, perform risk analysis, and resolve critical path challenges
· Develop customer relationships and manage customer expectations
· Develop executive and customer level briefings
· Initiate change management and ensure adoption and acceptance of change (i.e. analytics, process, innovative efficiencies).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
· Bachelors with 12 years of relevant experience; Masters with 10 years of experience
· Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years
· Demonstrated program management experience of 6 years
· Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
· Minimum of 5 years in a formal lead/ management position
· Demonstrated experience in Control Account Management (CAM)
· Experience in milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
· Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)
· Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM-related field of study from an accredited university and 8 years’ of relevant experience, 6 years’ with a Masters
· A minimum 3 years of related experience leading a team of engineers
· Ability to lead a team of approximately 100+ engineers and manage a small support team
· Strong Systems Engineering skills (5+ years)
· Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to brief Program, and Customer leadership
· Experience leading interdisciplinary major program event efforts on defense or aerospace programs
· Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.).
· Experience in technical leadership, systems engineering, and design integration
· Experience with ICBM programs
· Extensive/Recent MBSE experience (5+ years)
· Experience with Agile Development
· Experience with complex system development on large programs
· Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution. Candidate will require ability to rapidly assess and lend guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers.

Salary Range: $217,200 - $325,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
