Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Strategic Planner. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Strategic Deterrent System (SDS) Division.

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Develops long-range objectives and strategic plans for corporation or major division by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability.

  • Scans environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and may perform financial analysis of acquisition candidates.

  • Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets.

  • May prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.

  • Plans and coordinates business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization.

  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks.

  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

  • Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.

  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

  • Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

  • Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization.

  • Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters. 4 additional years of relevant experience may be added in lieu of degree.

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance awarded/renewed within the last 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Northrop Grumman or government contracting/DoD facilities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all stakeholders and SDS leadership.

  • Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction.

  • Excellent at written and oral communications

  • Strong ability to establish, develop, and maintain interpersonal relationships.

Salary Range: $104,400 - $156,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
