Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a leader to define, plan and manage the Engineering Management team in the Strategic Deterrence Systems Division. This position will be located in Roy Utah and will support the business portfolio for the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division which includes Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, Ground Systems Sustainment Contract and related Business development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a technically diverse engineering management team responsible for developing the engineering capabilities of the workforce within the SDS Division

• Establish technical Communities of Practice and Identify training requirements for Communities of Practice

• Responsible for training module development for all engineering disciplines which include: System Eng., Electrical Eng., Mechanical Eng., Eng., Computer Sciences, Systems Test, Cyber Security and all related specialty domains within a complex weapon system

• Utilizes analytical problem solving skills and strategic thinking abilities to resolve business issues

• Collaborates with SMEs, Process, and other Discipline Lead for both process development and training and implementation

• Mentor junior staff

We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following background:

• Expert in one or more engineering disciplines with program experience

• Understands the interactions of among the various engineering disciplines, roles and responsibilities

• Detailed and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills

• Skilled at solving unique problems and making sound engineering decisions

• Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership of tasks and accountability

• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree in engineering or related scientific fields and 5 years experience inclusive of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

• Knowledgeable of product development life cycle and interactions among engineering disciplines

• Knowledgeable of model-based engineering methods and tools

• Process minded with ability to develop written procedures

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project management experience

• DoD secret clearance with ability to achieve Top Secret Clearance

• Masters' degree in Engineering or related scientific fields

• Technical Leadership experience
