Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP), Strategic Deterrent Systems Division has an opening for a Proposal Manager 1 to join our team of fast-paced, dynamic, diverse Division Proposal Operations team at our Roy, UT facility. Secret clearance level eligibility required to start. Preferred candidates will have background in proposal management, project management, journalism, marketing communications, desktop publishing or have extensive experience working aerospace proposals. The selected candidate must be able to work on site and be willing and able to travel if needed (up to 10%). Flexible/hybrid work arrangements may be possible at times and will vary based on proposal assignments. Our mission is to apply proven proposal execution strategies, process, and leadership to teams across the division to ensure successful, compliant, compelling, and on time proposal submissions. The proposals we work on may include top Sector Priority Wins, competitive pursuits, and sole source efforts. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced across leadership, collaboration, innovation, communication, project management, risk management, and proposal-based capabilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support development of efficient and effective proposal execution plans in response to solicitations from U.S. Government customers
Lead collaborative and engaged teams to develop, review, and submit proposals that effectively represent the proposal strategy and baseline
Work with the Capture Manager and core team to develop the compliant proposal deliverables.
Mentor, coach, and train proposal team members
Lead and/or support Digital Transformation Office (DTO) projects that support capture and proposal management
Support proposal process, template and tool development
Lead proposal and/or publications team (desktop publishing, graphics, production)
Work closely with the proposal management and other stakeholders.
Coordinate the workflow of graphic and document assets.
Assists with the planning of resources and developing the production schedule. Assist with document integration using Microsoft Word.
Works with the graphic designer to prepare proposal content design and layout.
Edits proposal content for proper grammar, logic, and readability.
Ability to manage responsibilities independently with minimal or no day-to-day supervision.
Coordinates the electronic and physical production of multi-volume proposals.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8 years' relevant experience (6 years with Master's degree related to proposal development, communications, marketing, media and/or journalism)
2 years of experience in a lead Proposal Manager role/assignment
At least 2 years managing a diverse team of individuals
Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Government's competitive acquisition process
Mastery of Microsoft Word
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Experience with design and layout of documents and other print and digital materials
Ability to work often unpredictable schedules, including overtime, evenings, weekends; and over holidays
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must eligible for a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
6 years leading competitive and sole source proposal experience for U.S. Government customers
Experience managing competitive proposals with values greater than $50M
Document/graphic design and development standards
Technical editing
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Salary Range: $87,900 - $131,900
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
