Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join the Product Support Team to support Transportation Systems Development. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills to lead a team of system engineers in the development of requirements and associated verification activities for the GBSD major maintenance vehicles. The systems engineering team is involved in all phases of vehicle development starting with requirements, initial concepts, trade studies, early vehicle design influence, design and development, fabrication/procurement, engineering evaluation testing, verification, delivery of hardware, and support of delivered hardware. The candidate will have demonstrated background in systems engineering principles, tools, and applications.

The candidate will act as the lead of the major maintenance vehicles systems engineering efforts. This includes leading, mentoring, and training a team of systems engineers and acting as an advisor to management and customers. Frequent inter-organization, outside customer, and vehicle supplier communication is required in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with complex projects. Also includes identifying risks and opportunities and coordinating with project teams to mitigate and retire risks. Develops SE proposals to include reviewing & updating Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW), performing technical evaluations on all supplier proposal submittals, and attending proposal related reviews. Evaluates issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, including critical thinking and technical problem solving skills.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 14 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline; 12 years with a Master's degree; 9 years with a PhD

• Proficient with DOORS

• Experience with SE requirements analysis, trade studies, design solutions, acquisition, test, and validation

• Active DoD Secret clearance

• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD degree in STEM related discipline

• Proficient with Teamcenter

• Proficient with CAMEO

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance

• Prior experience in Aerospace industry

• Prior experience with requirements, design, or manufacturing of large vehicles
