Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Ground & Flight Test Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah. The selected candidate will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
What You'll Get To Do:
Position will be the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering in the Flight and Ground Test (FGT) Sub-IPT guiding the technical performance of the flight test program, providing support to the Flight and Ground Test Director in meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted activities. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the flight test program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is in compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program, System Test Team (STT), and FGT, and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the team.
The Ground and Flight Test Engineer is expected to work collaboratively and with influence to gain commitment and performance from other IPTs including the Command & Launch Segment, Infrastructure and Deployment, Aerospace Vehicle Equipment, and Product Support Team, as needed to drive required business outcomes. Customer interface and some travel will be required.
The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, planning and communication skills and possess extensive flight test and analysis skills.
Strong program execution skills; Demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones.
Ability to integrate, engage, and lead team to perform at top level of performance.
Ability to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.
7 or more years of flight test experience in defense and aerospace sector.
Active Secret Clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS is required to start, with reinvestigation within 5 years
-Familiarity with Test Planning and Procedures Development and Execution.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: ons:
Active Top Secret Clearance
10 or more years of system engineering experience leading a technical team to successful product development and delivery.
Technical breadth in the Requirements Allocation, Network Analysis, Product Design, Production, Deployment and a broad knowledge of end-to-end program lifecycle.
Strong program technical leadership skills
Strong partnership/collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to partner cross-IPT/cross-discipline within a team
