Staff Chief Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The selected candidate will support the GBSD Chief Engineer and will act as the Chief Engineer for the Nuclear Surety sub-IPT. NS Chief Engineer will:
Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the Nuclear Surety elements of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements
Act as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of Nuclear Surety on all GBSD elements (hardware/software/support/test)
Provide technical direction on Nuclear Safety Design Certification compliance including weapon system specifications, weapon system architecture, and compliance documents with integration into Model Based System Engineering environment to produce required artifacts for Nuclear Certification in accordance with AFI 63-125
Provide technical support to the Air Force ICBM Nuclear Certification Manager with AFI 63-125 Nuclear Certification Program activities
Lead and evaluate technical Nuclear Surety planning, analyses, nuclear certification assessments, and risk & vulnerability analyses required to support GBSD development
Present technical material to the Nuclear Surety Working Group and other AF and NG review boards
Coordinate Nuclear Surety requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities
Ensure that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Maintain cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company
Serves as the technical point of contact with the customer for Nuclear Surety technical matters

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
