Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team as a Launch Equipment Design Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
What You'll Get To Do:
This role will include responsibility for the development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment shock isolated systems for the weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Researches, plans, designs, develops and test large ground mechanical shock isolated systems that provide shock mitigation to weapon system hardware.
Develop CAD models and 3D model based drawings using Siemens NX and Team Center.
Collaborate across IPTs and develop interfaces.
Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant experience, or 4 years with PhD
• 3D CAD modeling experience
• Current DoD Secret Security Clearance awarded or updated within last 6 years
• Experience with Siemens NX and Team Center (CPLM)
• Experience with 3D model based drawings
• Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerance training
