The GBSD program is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer-Launch Equipment. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space System team supporting the Air Force's Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This will include development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment power hardware and systems for each weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers. What You'll Get To Do:

  • Research, plan, design, analyze and test electrical power components, equipment, systems, and networks

  • Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems

  • Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.

  • Conduct electrical power system load analyses

  • Design and conduct analysis on power components and circuitry

  • Create schematics and physical layouts

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with performing electrical power system load analyses, equipment selection and sizing, and system integration

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a related STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters of Science in a related STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline; 4 years with a PhD.

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher with an adjudication date within the last 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience in ICBMs or Aerospace programs

  • Experience with NX, Teamcenter and DOORS

  • Utilize power system assessment software to conduct arc flash analysis, coordinate circuit breakers, and analyze time current curves

  • Develop panel schedules based on load and power information

  • Coordinate distribution of electrical loads with a power system consisting of primary, standby, and emergency power sources

  • Experience managing a subcontractor
