Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Software Architect / Embedded Software Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
What You'll Get To Do:
Designs and develops system architectures for an embedded software system, and defines key capabilities and performance requirements. Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer. A substantial portion of the work involves collaboration within and across IPTs. 25% travel to El Segundo for first 6 months due to work in the laboratory. 10% travel thereafter.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 14 years of experience, or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 12 years of experience
Familiar with developing software, architecting, and writing requirements for a hard real time system
Experience designing software using UML (sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, class diagrams)
Experience developing software for a high-reliability system
Familiar with C++ and object oriented design
Active DoD Secret clearance with re-investigation date of 6 years or less.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with nuclear surety and safety requirements
Experience developing missile flight systems software
Experience participating in an Agile team or as a Scrum Master
Excellent communication skills
Holds a current in-scope DoD Top Secret or SAP clearance
