Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Managing Director (Director-1) to lead the development of the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division Digital Transformation (DT). The Director of Digital Transformation will drive the culture change in how we work and learn, how we harness integrated digital technologies to enable efficient information sharing and to empower our teams to conceptualize, design, build, and sustain value-driven solutions with the agility and speed that our customers require. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the business portfolio in the SDS Division which includes the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, Ground Systems Sustainment Contract and related business development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the overall strategy and implementation of the digital transformation initiatives for effective program execution and greater affordability

  • Help drive the culture change to unleash the capabilities of a fully digital enterprise

  • Lead and direct the division level digital toolkits, develop agile strategies and model-based applications

  • Integrate and support sector digital transformation initiatives

  • Primary responsibilities to interface into the program leadership across all the programs in SDS to implement DT initiatives

  • Identify and manage indirect budget requirements to develop digital transformation processes

  • Work closely with the program leads, workforce development managers and engineering process leads to ensure the right training requirements and process knowledge is established

  • Utilize analytical problem solving skills and strategic thinking abilities to resolve business issues

  • Collaborate with Program Office, Project Engineering, Business Management, and Division Leadership

  • Mentor junior staff

We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following background:

  • Proven engineering leadership skills with experience managing a large engineering project or engineering team

  • Understands the workflow interactions among engineering disciplines, global supply chain and business management roles on complex DoD programs

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills specific to information technology systems and databases

  • Knowledgeable of model-based methods

  • Detailed and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership of tasks and accountability

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering or related scientific fields

  • 10 years of experience in science or engineering

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership and program management experience

  • Knowledgeable of product development life cycle

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (clearance not required to start)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in leading design and deployment of large Information Technology System

  • DoD Secret clearance with ability to achieve Top Secret Clearance

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related scientific fields

  • Expert in digital engineering practices in DoD systems and/or commercial industry
