Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal and Senior Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be permanently located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The GBSD Nuclear Surety Team is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer/Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead the Nuclear Surety requirements effort. This position will be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL.
What you'll get to do:
The selected candidate will join our Mission Defense Team (MDT) and will oversee the Nuclear Surety design and interface requirements. Duties will include:
Developing requirements and verification plans
Implement requirements and verification plan changes in DOORS and drive changes through CM process
Ensuring consistency of requirements and verification plan implementation in the requirements database
Interfacing with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team to integrate DOORS with requirements and verification architecture models
Performing capability assessment evaluations
Non-compliance adjudication
Cross-program collaboration
Supporting lower level development entities including major subcontractors to ensure designs/artifacts are compliant with AF and DoD criteria for nuclear weapons systems

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
For Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Minimum 3 year Experience with requirements management in DOORS
Active DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation close date within the past 6 years
For Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Minimum 4 year Experience with requirements management in DOORS
Active DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation close date within the past 6 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD TS clearance with a background investigation close date within the past 6 years
Experience working with Nuclear Surety Requirements (e.g. AFI 63-125, AFMAN 91-118/91-119/31-108, DODM 5210.41, AFI 91-107)
Experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas:
Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
Hardware and/or Software Requirement development experience
