Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Systems Architect to join the Flight Systems Team as a Guidance System Architect. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
What You'll Get To Do:
The successful Guidance System Architect candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. In this role you will be a member of a small team of system engineers who will continue to mature the Guidance System's system engineering products from Preliminary Design phase to a Critical Design Review and beyond, focusing on interfaces & architecture maturation and integration. The role includes working in a fully immersed Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach for systems engineering. In this role you will be responsible for the development of the Guidance element's system engineering products, maturing Guidance element requirement specifications, interface control documents (ICDs) and system architecture definition as well as ensuring vertical and horizontal integration of the Guidance system requirements, interfaces and design.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

This position may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university
A minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; or 0 years with a PhD (Sr. Principal requires 9 years with a BS degree; 7 years with a Master's; or 4 years with a PhD)
MBSE experience with having implemented system architecture definition using UPDM and/or SysML in an MBSE tool such as MagicDraw (Cameo Enterprise Architect), Rhapsody, CORE etc.
Experience developing ICDs and defining interfaces in an MBSE environment
Experience with DOORS requirements management tool
Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within last 6 years
These qualifications would be nice to have:
Working understanding of basic control system theory and vehicle management systems / guidance system design
Experience in one of the following disciplines: guidance & control systems, inertial sensors, navigation systems or vehicle management systems
Extensive knowledge of Cameo Enterprise Architect
Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans
Experience working in an Agile team or even leading a Scrum team
Understanding of GN&C algorithms and flight critical software development
Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
