Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Logistics Engineer for the Product Support Technical Data organization. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

Job Description:

Logistics Engineer focused primarily on leading technical writing tasks for an S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manual effort. Primary role will be to interface with logisticians and design engineers to identify data module requirements and convert engineering source data into technical manual procedures. Will lead junior technical writers and illustrators in established processes and USAF requirements. Will aid in identifying validation and verification opportunities and will eventually be asked to lead those efforts. In the first two years, a very large portion of the day to day tasks will be writing procedures in XML.

The successful candidate should:

Have the ability to analyze weapon system operational/maintenance data requirements and translate engineering source data into USAF compliant technical order and IETM publications.

Have excellent interpersonal skills, written communications skills, be self-motivated, understand and exhibit a strong team work ethic and approach.

Work closely with other IPT's (Integrated Product Teams), Design Engineering IPT's, Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, and Technical Publication Writing/Editing teams.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in logistics, management, economics, or related discipline with 5 years of relatable work experience, or 9 years with a technical Associates degree, or +13 years directly related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Familiarity with USAF Technical order acquisition processes and requirements (TO 00-5-3)

  • Experience in USAF operations and maintenance technical operations and maintenance activities

  • Experience in using engineering documentation (engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, maintenance task analyses, etc)

  • Current DoD Secret clearance

  • Must possess excellent written communication skills

  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military experience with in-depth knowledge of USAF ICBM operations, maintenance, and logistics processes

  • Military experience with ICBM career fields; Electro-Mechanical Team (EMT), Facilities Maintenance Team (FMT), Missile Maintenance Team (MMT), flight test, and command operations

  • Familiarity with S1000D based USAF technical publications

  • Familiarity with XML/SGML based technical writing software

  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance
