Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Nuclear Surety Thread Lead. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
The Nuclear Surety Thread Lead will own the portion of GBSD system requirements related to nuclear surety, allocation of those requirements to unit level, Requirements vs. Capabilities (R vs C), verification planning, analysis planning, and execution in a Model based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment. Significant customer coordination. Responsible for planning and executing the specialty Engineering, Manufacturing & Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW), proactively interfacing with other Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) organizations and GBSD IPTs to ensure successful flow down and verification of requirements.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus 14 years (Master's degree in a STEM discipline plus 12 years, or a PhD in a STEM discipline plus 9 years) of relevant experience, including Systems Engineering experience.
Active Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Experience acting in a leadership role in Systems Engineering
Experience in execution of one or more Specialty engineering disciplines
Active TS Clearance
Experience with weapon systems
Experience with nuclear surety
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Software and Agile Development
3 years of experience acting in a leadership role in Systems Engineering
Effective communication skills, with the ability to brief Segment, Program and Customer leadership
