We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer Manager Level 1/Systems Engineering Manager Level 2 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL . As a Systems Engineer Manager Level 1/Systems Engineering Manager Level 2 at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation.

What You'll get to Do:

With a growing reliability team, Product Support (within the Systems Engineering organization) has an opportunity to bring on a new manager to support the Specialty Engineering team focusing on data analytics and corrective action related to FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action).

The Manager, Systems Engineering is responsible for the planning, staffing, directing, as well as managing the cost, schedule and performance of assigned programs and personnel as part of the Specialty Engineering functional area. Responsibilities require the close coordination and integration of team activities across multiple product lines and with other functional departments inside and outside of Product Support as required in support of program objectives.

The manager position coordinates the preparation of all proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, scope of work for Specialty Engineering activities, operating budgets for all assigned personnel, and workload planning and forecasting. Excellent communication/presentation skills and an in-depth knowledge of reliability management, program execution, Earned Value Management, and Risk Management systems are required.

Duties include personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development, recruiting, workload planning and forecasting, and time approval. Emphasis in this position is placed on leadership with focus on strategic vision and growth of the organization to meet both current and future mission needs. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to mentor and build junior staff into technical and programmatic experts in the field of reliability.

The candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective program oversight, functional management, and customer communication on multiple programs with multiple customers. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to build relationships with program management.

Basic Qualifications Manager Systems Engineering 1:

  • Bachelor's degree within a technical field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree within a technical field with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PHD with 0 years of experience

  • Experience with an emphasis on product improvement.

  • Proven Leadership experience

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

  • Requires excellent communication and organizational capabilities. Must be able to establish and maintain effective customer communication.

Basic Qualifications Manager Systems Engineering 2:

  • Bachelor's degree within a technical field with 9 years of relevant experience , or a Masters degree within a technical field with 7 years of relevant experience, or a PHD with 4 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with an emphasis on product improvement.

  • Proven Leadership experience

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance - Secret

  • Requires excellent communication and organizational capabilities. Must be able to establish and maintain effective customer communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Rolling Meadows products including LITENING and EW Systems.

  • Experience leading high performing teams and managing multiple priorities with cost and schedule responsibilities.

  • Experience with managing FRACAS programs

Salary Range: $120,800 - $181,200

Salary Range 2: $145,000 - $217,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
