Northrop Grumman Mission Systemsis seeking a talented Program Quality Engineer to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. The Program Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates broadly with program management, supply chain, contracts, engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure effective quality standards are in place, and that quality products are delivered to our customers.
Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, software design, supplier management, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
Strong leadership, communication, and ability to extract meaning from data are required for success in all phases of the role. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field.
9+ years of relevant experience (or 7 years with a MS degree).
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Fluent with Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Green Belt Certified or Black Belt Certified
Fluent with data visualization and/or statistical software tools
