Northrop Grumman Principal Manufacturing Automation Engineer in Rolling Meadows, Illinois

Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to identify, specify, design, implement and maintain industrial automation solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications. Areas of focus include microelectronics, antenna assembly, test and surface mount technology.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Develop statements of work for both internal and external suppliers of automation solutions by coordinating across

internal organizations to clearly identify/distill requirements

•Execute resulting capital projects

•Develop and implement less complex automation solutions as they arise




Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area plus 5 years of relevant professional

experience (3 years with an MS degree)

•Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment

•Must have fluency in MS Office software applications

•3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software

•Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).

Preferred Qualifications:

•Ability to program 6 axis robot (Fanuc preferred)

•Knowledge of PLC programming

•Design for Automation experience

•Virtual commissioning experience
