The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Processing Technologies Group, is seeking a Principal FPGA/Sr. Principal FPGA Engineer with digital logic circuit design to work as Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Design Engineer to be involved in full life-cycle product development of Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare (RFEW), Infrared Counter Measures (IRCM) and Advanced Target & Surveillance (ATS) Systems. You will be involved in Hardware Description Language (HDL) coding, test bench development, verification, synthesis, place and route and lab testing using state of the art tools and techniques.
This position is located at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.
This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level:
Basic Qualifications for Principal FPGA design engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field with 5+ years of related experience or Master's degree in STEM related field with 3+ years of related experience or in lieu of degree, an additional 4+ years of experience is required.
FPGA and VHDL experience required.
Understanding of digital logic fundamentals
Ability to read and understand Integrated Circuit (IC) data sheets
Basic familiarity with engineering lab equipment, e.g. oscilloscope
Good attention to detail and self-motivated to learn
Ability to work in teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineers
US Citizen and must have interim secret clearance prior to start. Once started, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal FPGA design engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field with 9+ years of related experience or Master's degree in STEM related field with 7+ years of related experience or in lieu of degree, an additional 4+ years of experience is required.
FPGA and VHDL design experience required.

Ability to read and understand Integrated Circuit (IC) data sheets
Basic familiarity with engineering lab equipment, e.g. oscilloscope
Good attention to detail and self-motivated to learn

Preferred Qualifications:
Some understanding of Digital Signal Processing or Image Processing

Salary Range: $109,900 - $164,900
Salary Range 2: $136,300 - $204,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
