Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance Engineer 4 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer 4 to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL.

The Mission Assurance Engineer defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Directs all program Mission and Quality Assurance activities, providing independent oversight of program performance from inception through completion to ensure overall compliance to contractual requirements and customer expectations, leading to mission success.

Capable of credibly engaging and providing thought leadership at a peer level with the program management team. Tailors the program Quality Management System to fit mission objectives and contract scope. Independently analyzes program cost, schedule, technical, and supplier performance and their interrelationships to identify risks and opportunities that would affect mission success and to ensure timely and effective handling.

Participates in proposal preparation to define the Mission and Quality Assurance roles and resources required for program execution and to ensure risks to mission success are identified and effective handling plans are documented. Acts as the primary customer contact for Mission and Quality Assurance and participates in program review sessions with the customer where cost, schedule, technical, and supplier performance are discussed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM related technical field.

  • 9+ years relevant experience in quality, engineering or manufacturing.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Must posses the ability to obtaina Secret Security Clearance. (US Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

  • Ability to perform quality related data analysis

  • Prior Quality engagement across program lifecycle.

  • Prior proposal experience.

  • Prior experience supporting field operations.

  • Ability to create and manage databases.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • ASQ Certifications (CQM, CQE)
