Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Field Technician to maintain our Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator (CEESIM) Electronic Warfare product line in Rolling Meadows, IL. The Field Technician installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
The successful candidate will have a background in the operation and maintenance of RADAR, or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, or commercial digital and RF equipment, or other electronics background, and will have experience testing, troubleshooting and performing repairs with minimal supervision. Knowledge in the proper usage of RF/Digital test equipment such as a multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and power meter is desired.
This is a 3rd shift position.
6 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree in a technical field plus 4 years of relevant experience; or U.S. military electronic school in electronic warfare and/or radar plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to change physical locations based upon need.
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.
Ability to apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Top Secret clearance
Associate's degree in a technical field
Experience in one of the following areas: Windows Administration, Linux Administration, or Storage Area Networks
Working knowledge of IP address/Networking theory including common command line tools and commonly used ports to troubleshot and test network/connectivity issues
U.S. military electronic school in electronic warfare and/or radar
Electronic Warfare and/or RF experience
