We are currently seeking talented individuals for an Industrial engineer level 2 or level 3 an on-site position at the Rocket Center, WV location just outside of Cumberland MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL have supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.

Responsibilities will include:
Positively impact the financial bottom line by working with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines and departments to eliminate waste and improve processes
Solve problems related to product and information flow on the manufacturing floor and back office
Design and implement processes to improve efficiency and flow throughout the factory
Facilitate continuous improvement events to develop, define and improve processes in the overall value streams
Create, analyze, and deliver recommendations regarding production performance metrics, staffing models, production readiness assessments, and facilities and workplace design.
Support analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment. Plans plant, office, and production facilities and equipment layouts.
Provide capacity planning and rate tool analyses
Design factory layouts, facilities, and flow simulations
Manage multiple priorities and projects, while communicating critical dates to all stakeholders
Facilitation of meetings, continuous improvement events, and communication is critical
Create new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
Our industrial engineers interact with employees up and down the org chart, so great communication skills will take you far. Our work is highly collaborative. Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer:
Level 2: Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience
Level 3 : Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
MES experience
Experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools
Experience using Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables
Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications (Tableau)
Experience with factory simulation / modeling (Flexsim)
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM Degree
Industrial Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Experience in planning and managing new program ramp-ups
Experience training all levels and all functions of a manufacturing organization in continuous improvement / lean tools
Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and advanced factory simulation tools
Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700
Salary Range 2: $84,200 - $126,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
