The Integration Support Group (ISG), a large diverse IT service organization supporting three major restricted programs, has an opening for a Staff Network Engineer to design and perform the installation and configuration of network products, including Cisco switches, routers and firewalls. Installation activities include initial setup following standard configuration guidelines, security hardening, cabling, labeling, documentation, and checkout. Ongoing tasks include problem resolution, firewall changes, connection additions, moves and changes, monitoring. The location for this role will be at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA. This work is in a secure facility (SCIF) and 100% onsite work is required.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing systems
Implement a communication system requirement to support distributed functionality of a software engineering environment
Analyze network characteristics
Troubleshoots network and system problems
Basic Qualifications:
Current active Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (SCI) security access/clearance needed, preferably CENTER briefed
Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 12 years of related experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Adjudicated Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
Active CompTIA Security+ certification
Ability to apply to Privileged User (PU) status prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
Information Assurance (IA) experience related to Certification and Accreditation
Linux and/or Windows System Admin knowledge is a definite plus
Experience in developing networks from design through implementation
Experience with CISCO Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
Experience with CISCO IOS or NX-OS
Experience with network test gear to resolve technical issues at all layers of OSI model
Experience configuring and maintaining Multicast networking
Experience configuring routers for EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast Protocols
Experience configuring firewalls
Familiarity with the Agile methodology
Salary Range: $149,900 - $224,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
