Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems has an opening for a T04 Sr. Parts, Materials and Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
The selected candidate will be part of the Macroelectronics Materials and Processes Engineering Section supporting various space systems.
-Subcontracts management for EEE parts
-Have experience and a high degree of understanding of materials and processes (M&P), electronics manufacturing
-Ability to multi-task and communicate
-Familiarity with destructive physical analysis
-Self-starter that takes ownership of tasks, oversee delegated tasks, check results for accuracy and document the results.
-Develop and implement PM&P processes and have a good understanding of prohibited materials, Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) and IPC/NASA/Military workmanship requirements for space hardware
-Participate in design reviews, program reviews, vendor qualification, failure analysis, trade studies and qualification review boards
-Formulate detailed instructions/test plans and be the lead in their execution with a proven understanding of data analysis methodologies and knowledge of design and manufacturing processes.
-Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts, suppliers, procurement, design, manufacturing, and quality engineers as well as functional management.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position requires a leader as well as a team player who will have significant interaction with management, and engineering personnel from other areas.
• Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 8 years of experience in a technical role OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 6 years of experience in a technical role.
• Experience with qualification of parts, materials or processes for air/space applications.
• Knowledge of Electrical/Electronic/Electro-mechanical parts or technologies.
• Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years.
•Master's degree in STEM
•Experience with materials selection, drawings and qualification of electronics
•Proven experience developing and executing test plans for analysis and qualification of electronic parts, materials, and processes
