Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for an experienced Sr. Principal Digital Hardware Engineer to join our team at the Redondo Beach, CA location.
Tasks of this role include Digital board/unit (electronic box level) design or Digital Unit verification. The qualified candidate is versed in the development process of digital electronics. The selected candidate will lead a team of board and FPGA designers and coordinate with other engineering specialty areas to develop a space or airborne qualified unit. The candidate should also be familiar with defense industry qualifications and design verification processes.
Other Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Digital Hardware Development
Requirements development & flow down
Work with other designers, such as FPGA/board designers to help implement design
Develop Verification matices and test plans.
Support lab testing and verification efforts
Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution with 9 years of engineering experience; 7 years of engineering experience with a STEM Master's degree; 4 years of engineering experience with a STEM PhD. degree.
5+ years of experience in digital hardware design development or verification
Candidate must have an Interim Top Secret Clearance to start and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance; or an active SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years; or a Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Active Top Secret Clearance
14 years of experience developing/testing Electronics for military or spacecraft applications, 8 of those in DSP/Comm design
Digital or Mixed signal unit, slice, board, and/or ASIC/FPGA design and development experience
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or other Engineering field from an accredited institution
Hands-on knowledge of programmatic/cost account management (CAM) processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort
Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage engineers and technicians in a process driven environment
