Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Radiation Effects Analyst 4 to join our team of creative and diverse engineers. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The Radiation Effects Analyst 4 will perform radiation effects analysis, shielding analysis, survivability analysis, radiation analysis reporting, and simulation of electronic components relative to space radiation effects. Experience with radiation testing, radiation exposure, parametric measurements, and circuit design/simulation is essential to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with dose-depth curves, displacement damage-depth curves, dose mapping, parameter degradation, and part evaluations.

Essential Functions:

  • Single event effects, upset, and transients

  • Meteoroid/orbital debris

  • Electron/proton/x - ray transport

  • Atomic oxygen calculations

  • Software development and design review presentation experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 9 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR

  • Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 7 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment

  • Practical working experience with parametric measurements and circuit design/simulation

  • Technical experience in radiation effects analysis, shielding analysis, weapons effects, and survivability analysis

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active In-Scope SCI Security Clearance

  • Software development and design review presentation experience

  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
