Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Survivability and Systems Engineering (S&SE) has an exciting career opportunity for a Survivability Section Manager (level 2) willing to push the boundaries in a fast-paced, exciting environment as the leader of one of two IR, Visual, and Aeroacoustic (IRVisAc) Survivability groups. The IRVisAc Survivability discipline is growing, thus there is a need to establish an additional IRVisAc Survivability group. The IRVisAc Survivability groups are responsible for developing new technology to protect the warfighter from IR, visual, or acoustic detection in a threat environment, and to respond to evolving threats. Technical responsibilities included in this position require the skills to design a vehicle for IR, Vis, and Acoustic Survivability using Survivability engineering tools, technologies, and principles. An emphasis on IR, Visual, and Aeroacoustic Survivability is encouraged. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The S&SE Section Manager is an Engineering Manager responsible for section management (up to 20% of time) and technical assignment (80% or more of time). Responsibilities to include resource planning and staffing; employee development including skills training and career development; performance management including employee goal setting, and performance appraisals. The Section Manager is also responsible for the recruitment and hiring of new engineers, and the deployment, measurement, and improvement of applicable engineering processes.

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of engineering experience
Previous experience in Air Survivability.
Active DoD SECRET (or higher) clearance, within 5 years of last investigation
The ability to obtain and maintain a special access program clearance
MS degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, materials science or chemical engineering; physics; chemistry; computer science; applied mathematics from an ABET accredited university
Previous experience in IR/Vis/Acoustic Survivability.
5+ years of direct experience leading teams and managing projects
Experience leading a team of diverse individuals toward a common objective
Previous experience leading projects in the SAP/SAR environment
Strong project management and team development skills
Existing program access to one or more current program areas
Excellent written and verbal communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance, within 5 years of last investigation
