Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mechanical Technician 2 - RCS/Low Observable to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Mechanical Technician 2 - RCS/Low Observable will:
Collaborate directly with engineering to construct complex models and test articles to exacting tolerances per the Requesting Engineer's direction.
Build full and sub-scale RCS models/test articles to support LO system development and design verification of stealth technologies.
Provide specialized parts and hardware to facilitate test and evaluation of prototype articles.
Responsible for quality and integrity of fabricated components associated with technology development, test and verification.
Support test execution requirements associated with the models.
Travel to various test site locations and support the Responsible Engineers testing efforts.
• High School Diploma/GED and minimum 2 years of experience with composite tooling and composite fabrication processes.
• General knowledge in specialized functions related to the building and testing of research models.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to work 1st shift and overtime as required with willingness to work other shifts as needed.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
A current DoD Secret clearance with the last investigation date within six years.
