Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer Mechanical or Principal Engineer Mechanical to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
This position can be filled at the Engineer Mechanical or the Principal Engineer Mechanical level.
This posting is for 9/80 1st Shift support.
Responsibilities:
Support the structural design activities with focus on metallic structures.
Execute engineering design projects on schedule (BTPs, Mod Drawings, Production support).
Support the creation and presentation of reports to document the progress and results of projects.
Coordination with manufacturing engineering counterparts for production line support, and producibility and affordability initiatives.
Support fleet repairs and design modifications of delivered aircraft.
This individual will utilize 3D parametric solid modeling using CATIA V5 and Teamcenter Product Data Manager to support design tasks.
The candidate should also have an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Design Engineer:
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 2 years of relevant industry experience or 0 years' experience with a Master's STEM degree
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Experience with industry standard design tools and processes including 3D parametric modeling software.
Experience with commercial or military aircraft.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Mechanical Design Engineer:
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 5 years of relevant industry experience or 3 years' experience with a Master's STEM degree or 0 years' experience with a PhD
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Experience with industry standard design tools and processes including 3D parametric modeling software.
Experience with commercial or military aircraft.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with CATIA V5
Prior experience with Teamcenter Product Data Manager
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or General Engineering.
Familiarity with Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is advantageous.
Experience creating and developing preliminary engineering designs and layouts.
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Familiarity with composites design and fabrication processes
Salary Range: $77,100 - $115,700
Salary Range 2: $95,000 - $142,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
