Northrop Grumman Kinetic Weapons Effects Lead - Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation 5 in Redondo Beach, California
The individual in this role will lead the Kinetic Weapons Effects Threat focus area for the Systems Analysis & Simulation team within the Global Strategy and Mission Solutions Organization. Threat studies and knowledge include kinetic weapons effects, integration with other sensors and applications for current/advanced threat comparisons.
The Kinetic Weapons Effects Lead5 will use advanced threat kinetic weapons knowledge to evaluate advanced concepts and technologies then convey results via effective visualizations. Activities include performing analysis involving threat systems, threat sensors, military requirements, system survivability, mission performance, force level effectiveness, and military utility. This role includes the integration of existing threat models, sensor performance models/algorithms and command-and-control models into system simulation frameworks.
-Apply complex kinetic weapons effects analyses across security protocols, advanced programs and platforms.
-Build threat models, modeling tools/toolkits, transfer database information across multiple analytical platforms, repurpose intelligence databases/portfolios into useful operational analysis systems currently used in advanced systems analysis and simulations.
-Lead a team providing kinetic weapons effects technical support to accomplish long-term objectives related to program development, execution, and related research and development projects.
-Communicate across the engineering disciplines/technology areas to integrate capabilities, communicate technical competencies and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers.
- MS degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science, with a MINIMUM of12 years (9 years with a PhD) of systems integration experience and technical depth in one or more of the following areas:
Kinetic weapons effects Modeling/Analysis
Weapon sensors (to include active, passive and advanced sensors)
Weapon warhead effects
Weapon flyout dynamics
Advanced Sensors, and Countermeasures
Demonstrated experience formulating and executing analysis plans for live, constructive or virtual simulation
Strong Project Management and team development skills
Proficiency in MATLAB, FORTRAN, Perl, Python, C#, or C/C++ or other advanced programming languages
Technical competency in AFSIM, Brawler, Suppressor, ESAMS, and STK., or other engagement or mission level models
Proficiency in and/or technical understanding of operational analysis models
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SSBI and current eligibility and experience with Special Access Programs
Proven experience with weapon lethality and vulnerability assessments
Experience related to sensors (EO/IR, radar, ESM, RF, SAR, etc), data processing/fusion, data links, and navigation
Specific experience with development, integration, and/or test of weapon systems and munitions
Significant work experience with complex, military systems (aircraft, ships, spacecraft, etc) and/or subsystems
General Systems Engineering skills (requirements definition, requirements analysis, functional design/decomposition, DoDAF, requirements decomposition/allocation, etc)
