SSSD has an opening for a Flight Inspector 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Essential Function:

Inspects machined or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirement. Devises setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions. Works from drawings, sketches, and specifications. Analyzes defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends corrective action. May determine method and sequences necessary to perform inspections.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

  • Willingness to support 2nd shift (if required).

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4 years experience in CMM Inspection and Programming

  • Basic Computer Skills / Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Must be able to program parts from blueprints and write inspection programs for CMM inspection

  • Ability to use inspection equipment such as: micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability and willing to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance.

  • Associates (2 year) degree in engineering discipline or non-technical 4-year degree from accredited institute.

  • Proficient in Calypso software version 7.0

  • Possess a high degree of GD&T understanding

Salary Range: $67,100 - $111,900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
