Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Environmental Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA .

This individual will manage environmental programs for air quality, hazard materials, hazardous waste, and water quality.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Develops, administers and implements environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements.

  • Provides supervision and support to technical staff

  • Monitors pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts.

  • Conducts studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes.

  • Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by the federal EPA, SCAQMD, state and local regulatory agencies.

  • Determines impact on company operations and publishes compliance strategies and requirements.

  • Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact.

  • Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in EPA, SCAQMD, state and local regulatory audits.

  • Planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package.

  • Represents Company in government and industry rule-making activities.

  • Interface with internal personnel at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of environmental, health and safety experience

  • Two (2) or more years of experience leading a team, project, or program in a supervisory capacity

  • Experience and current knowledge in environmental programs (air, waste, water)

  • Knowledge of EPA and SCAQMD rules.

  • Experience in applying environmental requirements to solve problems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written, to a diverse group of stakeholders to advise, implement, or influence decision making.

  • Ability to obtain and retain a DoD Government Clearance up to an SCI level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or related science discipline

  • OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline

  • Five years+ supervisory experience with a multi-disciplined Environmental, Health and Safety team
