Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The selected candidate will have a focus on cybersecurity, should be a self-starter and satisfy the essential functions below.
Responsible for supporting the government Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of the system based on the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Categorizing the system in accordance with Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253, selecting and tailoring security controls defined NIST SP 800-53, providing a cybersecurity risk assessment and deriving cybersecurity requirements from cybersecurity controls and risk mitigations
Working with each Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop architectures and designs that meet cybersecurity requirements, and reviewing all system architectures, designs, and changes to ensure they do not have an adverse cybersecurity impact
Responsible for coordinating control selection, planned implementations, and risk assessments with the customer to ensure the concerns of the Authorizing Official (AO) are addressed
Act as a resourceful point of contact for the program
Providing technical leadership and assume overall accountability for the success of the program
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate should have good coordination, communications, planning, and interpersonal skills. Approximately 10% travel will be required.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of software engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of software engineering experience, OR 4 years experience with a STEM PhD.
Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including how it relates to system requirements and architecture
Certificate meeting the IASAE job category for DoD 8570.1-M (CASP CE, CISSP or CSSLP)
An active in-scope DoD Secret clearance
The ability to obtain special program access
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Understanding of multi-level security, attack trees and risk assessment
CISSP certification is preferred
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
