Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Director 1, Supplier Quality to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Essential duties within this role are:

  • Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management.

  • Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.

  • Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.

  • Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.

  • Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.

  • Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.

  • Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process.

  • Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.

  • Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.

  • Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.

  • Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.

  • Recognizes and reinforces strong employee performance while identifying, encouraging, and facilitating improvement as needed via performance management processes that champion, foster, and ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work enviornment.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with ten (10) years of experience in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Subcontracts, and/or other related industires or experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience successfully leading people, projects, and/or programs to successful goal attainment

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and foster an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains, and inspires diverse and engaged teams

  • Experience in supply chain oversight and/or supply chain quality for complex (major unit or subsystem) subcontracts

  • The ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, understood, stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets program and stakeholder needs

  • The ability to plan and execute a project quality management system to satisfy quality requirements and create a project value system which emphasizes prevention over inspection and continuous process improvement

  • Active/In-Scope TS/SSBI or SCI Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active/in-scope SCI

  • Program leadership experience with cost schedule and quality accountability

  • Experience within the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Experience supporting suppliers in significant recovery activities
