Northrop Grumman is looking for an experienced MODEM/DSP Subsystem designer to join our team at the Redondo Beach, CA location.
Tasks of this role include Digital Signal Processing Architecture, particularly focused on MODEM and subsystem design. The qualified candidate will be a digital DSP design engineer who will work on digital hardware development with applications in signal processing, modem design for air and space applications. The candidate also needs to lead a small team of designers and coordinate with other engineering specialty areas to develop a space or airborne qualified DPP subsystems. Other Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Digital Hardware Development
Simulation (Communications, signal processing)
Requirements development & flow down
Work with other designers, such as FPGA/board designers to help implement design
Help develop test plans for testing developed hardware

Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution with 20 years of experience; 18 years with a Masters degree
12 years of experience in MODEM and or digital hardware subsystem design development with emphasis on DSP applications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance
22 years of experience developing/testing Electronics for military or spacecraft applications, 10 of those in DSP design
Digital or Mixed signal unit, slice, board, and/or ASIC/FPGA design and development experience
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or other Engineering field from an accredited institution
Hands-on knowledge of programmatic/cost account management (CAM) processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort
Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage engineers and technicians in a process driven environment
