Northrop Grumman Computer Operator (third shift) in Redondo Beach, California

The Strategic Program Support team at Northrop Grumman Technology Services (NGTS) is looking for you to join our team as a Computer Systems Operator 2based out of Redondo Beach. The Computer Operator will provide 3rd shift support (22:00 07:00) to a large scale 24 x 7 computer facility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for system monitoring and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows operating systems and associated layered product, user account support, and data integrity (backup/restore).

Ensure system and network security controls are maintained and grant access to authorized SW developers and engineers (With additional access levels as a privileged user).

Ensure facility environment (HVAC, power, light, etc.) operates in a nominal state.

Build and configure racks of equipment (networks and servers) and deploy workstations.

Administrative clerical work incidental to machine operations will be required, such as cleaning resources, labeling cables, tapes, replenishing specified stock items.

Generate and update existing technical documentation and drawings.

Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

High School diploma and 2 years related experience.

Knowledge of system administration processes and concepts

Knowledge of networking and computer security processes

Experience working with vendors and Facilities personnel

US Citizenship with the ability to obtain TS/SCI access

Help Desk experience

Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ certification

Ability to exert physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and abilityto bend and stoop

Must be able to multi-task and work well in a team environment without supervision

Must be willing/able to travel. Position may require infrequent local and international travel to support remote installations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Current active SSBI or Top Secret/SCI security clearance preferred

Associate's Degree in Math/Computer Science/Engineering

Basic Linux and Windows experience

Experience with Discrepancy/Problem Reporting management
