Northrop Grumman’s SSSD has an opening for an Associate Systems Engineer/Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA and can be filled at either Level 1 Associate Systems Engineer or Level 2 Systems Engineer.
*This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Work scope covers a range of Systems Engineering disciplines and products including requirements & verification, interfaces, architecture, and design
-Support development of verification planning/products, test requirements, and other key products
-Support preparation and execution of milestones
-Role entails collaboration with Space Vehicle Systems Engineering, subsystems, and unit level engineers and engagement in multiple working groups and control boards
-Specifics of responsibilities can be tailored based on skillset and experience of selected candidate
Basic Qualifications for Level 1 Associate Systems Engineer:
-Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret security clearance at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must have active SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years at time of application and prior to start date
Basic Qualifications for Level 2 Systems Engineer:
-Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 2+ years of engineering experience OR
-Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
-Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret security clearance at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Candidate must have active SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years at time of application and prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
-Strong communication skills
-Ability to proficiently use tools such as: MS Project, Power Point, Excel, Jira, DOORS, CAMEO

Salary Range: $74,000.00 - $111,000.00Salary Range 2: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
