Northrop Grumman is seeking an Evironmental Health and Safety Manager 3 for it's location in Plymouth, MN.
Observes work processes for compliance with regulatory and Company requirements and standards. Conducts data collection & review, file management and sample collection. Performs process compliance checks & verifications. Evaluates collected data and converts it into a presentable format. Prepares external communication to regulators & shareholders. Supports the preparation and delivery of internal training and participates in regulatory negotiations & interactions. May train others to perform data collection, compliance audits and incident investigations. Plans and responds to safety related emergency situations and events. Manages EHS department employees and budget.
Observes, records, analyzes and affects change of EH&S compliance-related activities as necessary. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues.
Assure compliance with Corporate and Sector EHS procedures and guidelines such as HOPS and K200.
Performs AS PPCB Secretary duties to assure internal reviews as required by HOPS and sector management.
Review Detailed and Standard Operating procedures and approve or revise for safety compliance.
Utilizes Root Cause and Problem Solving tools. Provides creative and practical technical solutions to a moderate range of challenging problems.
Creates and may conduct the facility's EH&S training program.
Collects, evaluates and interprets relevant EH&S related data and metrics. Prepares environmental, health and safety work procedure documentation and conducts training courses.
Engagement with site leadership to foster a strong positive EHS culture across the AS Business Unit.
Provides input for external communications to customers, regulators & shareholders. Prepares communications to internal management.
Manages AS relationships and related activities with EH&S regulatory personnel such as DCMA Safety, OSHA, EPA/MPCA and other regulatory agencies.
Lead internal actions and activities related to event investigations.
Requires BS in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent technical area (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, etc.)
4 years EHS/Safety experience, or Master's Degree in relevant technical area & 2 years EHS/Safety experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
2 years supervisory experience desirable.
Demonstrates thorough understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories, and techniques in environmental and/or safety engineering.
Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to quickly learn new computer programs/applications.
Utilizes technical writing skills.
Able to read and understand operational procedures, government regulations, and safety data sheets.
Can manage data within the incident reporting tool. Interpersonal skills are required (communication, conflict resolution, etc).
Interprets federal and state laws, regulations, and orders as they apply to environmental practices, and implements policies and procedures to ensure that these practices are in compliance with the appropriate statutes and regulations, and that regulatory reporting requirements are met.
Ability to provide EHS leadership across all locations in AS
