Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Patuxent River, MD has an opening for a Test Conductor 4.

Essential Functions:

Test Conductor in the role of a Flight Test Control Engineer to support flight test planning, ground and flight test operations on F-35 B/C aircraft with the Combined Test Force at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Responsible for ensuring engineering test meet mission objectives and mechanisms are in place to execute these tests. Oversees the operational aspects of engineering tests and serves as liaison to program, engineering, and line management. Reviews status of test requirements, manages schedules, and prepares reports. Assesses anomalies and develops resolutions to documented procedures in conjunction with Air Vehicle, Test Operations, and Quality Engineering departments.

Day-to-day tasks will include coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft test readiness to include issuance, and closure of documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft, and coordination of aircraft modifications. Position requires control and tracking of aircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of support equipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules.

Coordination and communication of issues and status with Test Operations Managers, maintenance, logistics and responsible engineers is required. This position will act as the principal focal point between maintenance and engineering personnel. The ability to work either first (2nd) or second (3rd) shift is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9+ Years in Engineeringwith a Bachelor's degree inScience, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM), OR

  • 7+ years with Masters in STEM, OR

  • 4+ Years with a PH.D in STEM,OR

  • 13years of exempt experience in Engineering, Test or as a Test Conductor will be considered in lieu of a STEM degree

  • Active In ScopeSecret clearance or above required to start

  • Must be able to obtain access to a Special Access Program.

  • Ability and willingness to work non-standard shifts/overtime and travel for repeated short periods is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test experience of multiple disciplines, to include control room monitoring. Previous qualification as a Test Conductor.

  • Current Top Secret or SCI clearances.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Excellent communications skills, including the ability to brief test results to executive leadership.

  • Experience with Configuration Management and/or Quality.
