Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems currently has an opening for a Quality Analyst 4 supporting a Flight Test team in Patuxent River NAS, MD.
This high-level Flight Test QA (FTQA) position will support the development and implementation of program quality plans, policies, and procedures that support the execution of a safe and effective Flight Test Program through use of statistical quality control metrics and six-sigma tools and analyses. The FTQA will ensure that the flight test environment and quality of products conform to established customer and engineering requirements. The position requires the review, analysis on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems and other related ground and flight related discrepancies.
interfacing with Flight Test management, engineering, customer, and suppliers (Sub contract Management) to ensure requirements are met.
Recommending corrective and preventative actions.
Supporting the MRB process for dispositions and modifications required in a flight test environment.
Additionally, the selected FTQA will support the Flight Test inspection activities during system ground and flight testing on UAV Systems.
The FTQA will also verify that the air vehicle, mission, and test control rooms are configured and functioning per design, and that they are ready to enter flight testing.
Ground tests include:
sub-system integration and testing of fuel system
verify weight and balance
landing gear checks
electrical and hydraulic system checks
mission management system.
In addition, the selected candidate will support all pre/post flight inspections as well Test Readiness Reviews and all flights brief.
They also will be required to support all deferred action boards, and represent Quality Leadership on site. Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills to effectively communicate with their leadership team are strongly needed.
Bachelors degree from an accredited academic institution and 10 years experience in working on Aircraft in a Flight Line/Flight Test capacity/ Quality Design or Engineering OR Masters degree from an accredited academic institution and 8 years experience working on Aircraft in a Flight Line/Flight Test capacity/ Quality Design or Engineering
Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tool suite (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Aerospace Industry Experience strongly preferred
Past USN/USAF experience
Lean and Six Sigma Certification
ASQ / CQE Certification
