Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Principal Facilities Contructions Project Manage r to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

This position oversees and manages the facilities projects and construction activities and serves as liaison between leadership, program and other customers.

  • Act as primary contact for facilities between customers and maintenance for equipment and machinery project activities.

  • Gather, review, and finalize requirements data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.

  • Work with subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and solve issues related to mechanical system, machines and or material assemblies.

  • Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.

  • Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.

  • Prepare Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services.

  • Review and estimate costs, including design, equipment, installation, labor, materials, construction, and other related costs.

  • Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Manage and execute multiple facilities projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

  • Forecast and report on project status, including key project metrics for Risk, Cost, and Schedule.

  • Produce and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as required.

  • Identifies any task that will require special inspection and coordinates with customer and contractors

  • Coordinate and update the Air Force as required for projects, budgets, and schedule.

  • Prepares Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's and 6 years' (OR Master's and 4 year's OR a high school diploma/equivalent and 10 years') of combined project management, facilities construction project management, or facilities management experience.

  • Professional writing skills and the ability to communicate with various levels of leadership to include presentation skills, technical approaches and findings.

  • Proficient in MS Project and the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrated capability to perform assignments on time and within budget. and knowledge of other construction related disciplines.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Understanding of the change management process

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience with; the design and construction of cleanrooms, design and construction of classified facilities, fire and security alarms and systems and remote monitoring, energy management systems, electrical systems and high-voltage electricity/substations and reliability engineering.

  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, local, UFC Criteria, FED OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

  • Prior work experience in facility layout, engineering, electrical, mechanical, HVAC design, plumbing, hydraulics, dynamics, and/or control systems and project management.
