Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Manufacturing.

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent with a minimum of 13 years of experience in Aerospace or Associate's Degree with a minimum of 11 years of experience in Aerospace

  • Proficient ability to read and interpret 3D models and Engineering drawings/blueprints, Process Specifications, Procedures, Standard Repairs and USAF Technical Orders.

  • Must have the ability to communicate, orally and in writing, with multiple levels of leadership

  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment as well as alone

  • Must be willing to work extended daily schedules and weekends, if/as needed

  • Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance with a refresh/reinvestigation within the last 6 years and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) Bachelors in Science degree and 5 years of experience, 3 years with Masters or 0 years with PhD

  • Experience in planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment

  • Experience creating work instructions and visual aids

  • Experience creating procedures or process manuals

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word

  • Current or previous B-2 experience a plus

  • Current B-2 Special Program Access
