Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer for the 3/10 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) day shift. This position will be located in Palmdale, California.
Essential Functions:
Metallic & Composite Structural Analysis Engineer - Position requires experience in composite and metallic structural analysis methods and documentation, detailed analysis procedures, load paths, load distribution, sizing, fittings/fasteners/joints/splices, acoustics/vibration familiarity, structural integrity plan, design criteria, stability, crippling, durability analysis and finite element modeling of structure. Anticipated skillset includes familiarity with traditional closed form analysis, numerical FEM analysis, durability and damage tolerance analysis, and understand material allowable for layout and design sizing of aircraft structures. The position is responsible for all types of aircraft structural parts as well as assembly analysis associated with installation of parts and subsystems.
This position can be filled at the Principal Engineer Structural or Sr. Principal Engineer Structural levels:
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Mechanical Engineer:
Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a PhD with 0 years of experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Experience with commercial or military aircraft.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer:
Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a PhD in a STEM discipline AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in engineering.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Experience with commercial or military aircraft.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience performing structural analysis on the F35 Program, and familiar with the Lockheed Martin tools such as IMAT, IDAT, and PDM. Experience in finite element analysis/modeling techniques, including manipulation of large finite element models.

Salary Range: $104,600 - $157,000
Salary Range 2: $129,700 - $194,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
