Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Onsite Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will act as local on-site manufacturing engineering representative at the Palmdale, California site for the Clearfield, Utah facility.
Plans, organizes, directs and reports on all travel work activities to assure fulfillment of contract/purchase order requirements
Provides floor support to Operations during travel work and coordinates additional technical floor support as needed
Translates engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements in accordance with technical subject matter experts across locations
Collaborates with program management, engineering, mission assurance, subcontracts/ procurement functional management and customer management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers
Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for product solution
Coordinates requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancies with mission assurance and liaison engineering across sites
Keeps management apprised of product performance, quality status, risks, and customer concerns
Tracks customer identified issues to closure with home site design, manufacturing engineering, and operations teams
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with diverse assignments and collaborate in team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a production environment and be able to collaborate closely with Operations, engineering, mission assurance, program office, and contracts.
Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of experience working as a manufacturing or design engineer OR Master's Degree and 7 Years working as a manufacturing or design engineer
Must have project leadership experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance within 5 ½ years of last investigation
Must have the ability to obtain a special program access clearance
Aircraft manufacturing support experience in manufacturing engineering or design engineering
Liaison engineering experience
Highly proficient in NX11 or higher
Experience communicating with aerospace customers
Prior onsite engineering experience
Preference will be given to individuals already accessed to Special Access Programs
