Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager Manufacturing Engineering 3 to join our team in Palmdale, CA. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of manufacturing production experience.
5 years of experience in leadership of engineering teams.
Knowledge of and or experience in leading a team of professionals toward achieving and sustaining a technical goal.
An active DoD Secret clearance recently granted or reviewed within 5 years is required to start and the ability to obtain Special Program access and maintain both
Experience in the full software development cycle.
Ability to travel between sites within the US
Previous technical leadership experience.
Advanced STEM degree
Experience with Automation systems
Experience with Test Driven Development.
Experience with acquisition and sustainment of automated machines.
Knowledge and or budget management experience such as EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
Knowledge of advanced aerospace coatings applications, Low Observable technology, manufacturing production automation, robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
