Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Materials and Process Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, California.
The selected candidate will be the responsible engineer for selected materials and process specifications utilized for advanced military airframes.
Provide technical support for composites, bonded assemblies and related flight hardware as a member of the Materials and Process Engineering Organization.
This position will involve being the responsible engineer for selected materials and process specifications utilized for advanced military airframes.
Provide technical input as a team member involved with design, fabrication and assembly of composite structures, development and insertion of technological advancements for composite production and technical collaboration with suppliers.
Demonstrate familiarity with aerospace composite pre-pregs, honeycomb and adhesive materials; fabrication, assembly and repair processes for aerospace composite structures
Prepare and present oral and written reports
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degree with 5 years experience (OR 3 years with a Master's degree).
Must have experience working with pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures.
Active in-scope Secret clearance with a background investigation/periodic review within the past 6 years required .
Master's degree is preferred.
Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports
