Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Weapons Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale (preferred) or San Diego, CA.
The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers in the execution of designing, testing and integrating an SMS and BRA.
-Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of engineers, suppliers and technicians.
Definition, design, integration, and test of Universal Armament Interface (UAI) compliant MIL-STD-1760 Stores Management Systems (SMS) and Bomb Rack Assemblies (BRA).
Requirements management, supplier management, system integration, test plan development, and test execution of a weapon system throughout the entire development, demonstration, and production phases.
Lead a team of engineers in the execution of designing, testing and integrating an SMS and BRA.
Provide guidance to the team in order to ensure cost, schedule and technical objectives are met. - - Preparing detailed requirements specifications, test plans and procedures, certification plans and procedures, and performance reports related to these governing standards.
Develop statements of work, specifications, and interface control documents.
Prepare, monitor, and update program schedules, conduct and participate in all related design reviews, and provide technical guidance to the cross-functional team.
Work with Global Supply Chain in order to effectively manage the supplier.
Utilization of Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Microsoft Office, various scheduling methods, and technical writing skills (including proposals)
Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and people skills
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
Must have 14years of Engineering Experience or 12 years of Engineering Experience and a Master's Degree in a STEM field.
Experience withSMS/ Suspension and/or Release Equipment (S&RE)-related hardware and software requirements
An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance
The ability to obtain program access in a timely fashion
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification (end-to-end development) and operation of S&RE.
Intimate knowledge of governing standards
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Active, in- scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
