Northrop Grumman is looking for a technical editor/writer to:
Rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.
Conduct quality review of materials.
Provide engineering and technical support to the Combat System Technical Operations Manual (CSTOM) for CG 47 and DDG 51 Class ships.
Perform engineering and technical analyses of Navy databases for defining alterations and modifications to ship combat systems and to define combat system operations required to be incorporated into CSTOM update packages
Coordinate with appropriate system or equipment In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs) to confirm ship configurations and system and equipment operations.
Process CSTOM routine and urgent TMDERs and Advance Change Notices (ACNs) provided by ships, associated commands, and facilities.
Perform engineering and technical review of the TMDER and canIdentify and update all redline changes to impacted CSTOM package
• Navy experience including extensive knowledge of Aegis Weapons System
Understanding of Combat System technical Operations Manual (CSTOM)
Ability to research, and clearly markup documentation to reflect availability upgrades
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
• Desktop publishing experience with Broadvision Quicksilver. In addition understanding of effectivity, attributes and elements a plus.
• Must be able to work as a team to develop CSTOM documentation.
• Must possess an Active Secret Clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
